We may go down many paths in our journey of life, but God’s path to Heaven is the most important path we will ever take.

What must we do to be saved?

Hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

Acts 15:7 – …Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

John 5:24 – Verily, verily I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.

Romans 10:17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he came to earth as a man to show us how to live. He died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for our sins and was raised by God on the third day so we could have hope of eternal life in heaven.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 11: 25-26 – Jesus said unto her (Martha), I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Believeth thou this?

Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Repent for the remission of our sins at an age when we know right from wrong. With repenting, we make the decision to turn away from sin, and live for God instead of the world.

Acts 2:38 – Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the Holy Ghost.

2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Confess with our mouths that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Matthew 10:32-33 – Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Romans 10:9-10 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Be Baptized (full immersion) to wash away your sins.

Acts 2:38 – Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the Holy Ghost.

Romans 6:3-5 – Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life.

Galatians 3:26-28 – For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male or female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Do you know that God loved you so much that he sacrificed his only Son for our sins? In doing that, he gave us a path to redemption that we can follow to gain true salvation, peace and joy. How wonderful is our God!

John 15: 11-13 (ESV)– These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
